Reordering a 3D printed part with the correct model version

A repeat order starts with the version you actually tested. A part’s name and color do not describe every manufacturing parameter. Keep the information that will help the next request refer to the same approved result.

Keep the approved file, physical dimensions, material, color and earlier order reference when planning a repeat with DECORDS 3D. State the new quantity and whether it should reproduce the tested version without changes. For a design revision, provide a separate updated file and describe what changed. Material availability, price and timing are confirmed again before the next job begins.

After a successful test, retain the exact file used for the part that fitted. Keep a photograph of the result and a note of what was checked alongside it. A similar filename is not enough when several versions have different holes or dimensions. That record helps you identify the approved design and explain the result you want from the next order.

Save physical dimensions, measurement units and quantity together with the selected material. If the model was scaled during the estimate, record the finished dimensions after scaling. Note the desired color and important visible surfaces as well. These details help compare a new estimate with the previous item and reveal differences before manufacture, particularly when copies of the source file are held in different places.

Provide the earlier reference and the contact details used for that order when making another inquiry. They help the discussion, but you should still retain your own model and parameter records. Confirm with the workshop whether earlier materials remain available instead of assuming every file is kept permanently. Give any file you resubmit a clear version so it can be matched to the tested result.

Treat a larger hole, different mounting or changed size as a revised request. Explain which areas should change and which must remain as they were on the earlier sample. Keep the old approved file rather than replacing your only copy, because comparing the versions may be useful. A modified design needs review even when it looks very similar to a part already made.

After changing a fitting feature or material, check one example before ordering a small batch. The new version may join the mating component differently or feel different in use. Agree a clear test and provide measurements if the result differs from what was intended. Once approved, keep the updated model separately from the old one so later orders refer to the version that suits the task.

Begin a new estimate in the DECORDS 3D calculator with the saved dimensions and required quantity. Review the new total alongside the available material and selected handover method. The estimate uses the outer bounding box, material, size tier and quantity, with preparation included in the minimum order. Any modeling and delivery are separate, so compare the complete agreed scope of the next job.

Even if the previous order was produced quickly, agree the next date separately. The usual production estimate is 2 to 5 days after model approval and payment, most often around 3 days. Reviewing changes and transporting the order add time. Give the required receipt date with the request, especially when matching parts are needed for a scheduled job or existing supplies are running low.

Submit the file, parameters and earlier reference through the website or to 3dprint@decords.com. For a revision, use the modeling form and describe the changes. DECORDS 3D makes agreed FDM parts in Tallinn, with workshop collection or an available delivery method. Confirm the model, quantity, price and timing before manufacture so the next order follows a clear shared agreement.
