How to choose a 3D printing service in Tallinn

Start with the job your part needs to do. Then compare the material, estimate and collection arrangements. Here is how that conversation works when ordering from DECORDS 3D in Tallinn.

DECORDS 3D offers custom FDM printing from its workshop at Madara 33/1, S1, Tallinn. We make individual plastic parts, prototypes, small batches and decorative objects. Upload a ready STL or OBJ to the website calculator for an initial estimate. Without a file, send photographs, measurements and a description so modeling can be assessed separately.

Before comparing workshops, explain the part’s purpose and where it will be used. A desk holder, an equipment enclosure and a presentation model can need different materials and preparation. Include any heat, outdoor exposure or repeated load the item will face. This gives the workshop a practical basis for assessing the job before the discussion turns to color and appearance.

Ask which printing process the workshop uses and whether it suits your shape. DECORDS 3D provides FDM printing in PLA, PETG, ASA and TPU, selected according to the application. Establish any need for another process before placing the order. The general phrase 3D printing does not by itself describe the surface, flexibility or level of detail you can expect.

Our online estimate takes STL or OBJ files up to 20 MB and 250,000 triangles. Check the units and physical dimensions after upload, because the preview’s size on screen does not establish the real scale. Export STEP and 3MF files into a supported format first. If a model will be developed from photographs, provide measurements for features that one image cannot define reliably.

Compare offers for the same model, material, dimensions and quantity. The DECORDS 3D calculator uses the outer bounding box, selected material, size tier and number of copies. It does not calculate actual plastic consumption or print time from the printer’s toolpath, so understand the basis of each estimate. Preparation is included in the minimum order, while delivery and model creation are separate.

Identify the dimensions and surfaces that matter to your application. For a part that joins another object, provide the mating measurements and a photograph of the assembly. Before a small production run, agree a sample and check it in the intended conditions. That trial gives you a chance to identify revisions and agree the next step before the remaining copies are made.

The usual DECORDS 3D production estimate is 2 to 5 days after model approval and payment, most often around 3 days. Model creation and transport take additional time. Give the required receipt date with your first inquiry and wait for feasibility and timing to be confirmed. Urgent work within one day is discussed individually, so it is not the standard lead time for every order.

Finished orders can be collected from DECORDS at Madara 33/1, S1, Tallinn, with a time arranged after notification that the work is ready. We work weekdays from 10:00 to 18:00 Tallinn time and answer calls on +372 5874 3963. Send a task description and files through the website or to 3dprint@decords.com. For delivery in Estonia, check the available method and price in the order form before submission.

With a ready model, begin with the printing estimate and review the parameters before submitting. With an idea or broken part, use the modeling request form and explain the task. Agree the work’s scope, material, price and handover so both sides understand the expected result. Those concrete terms give you a useful basis for choosing a Tallinn workshop and comparing proposals for your own project.
