Ordering a 3D printed architectural model in Tallinn

A physical model makes it easier to discuss a building’s form and the relationship between its parts. Define the finished size and purpose before printing. Then agree which features need to remain clear at that scale.

You can request FDM manufacture of plastic architectural model components from DECORDS 3D in Tallinn. Send the model, finished dimensions, intended scale and purpose of the presentation. Identify visible surfaces, removable elements and parts that need to join. The printability of the geometry and the scope of additional work are agreed before the order is confirmed.

Say whether the model is for a discussion of overall form, a student presentation or a demonstration of one building. This determines what viewers need to recognize and from what distance. The main concern may be the volumes and arrangement of buildings, or it may be one particular facade. Show the planned composition so those priorities are clear before print detail is discussed.

Give the scale together with the length, width and height of the reduced model. Those measurements help check the export from architectural software and identify unit errors. If it must stand on an existing base, provide the usable area and mounting positions. Compare the uploaded dimensions with these values, because an image on screen does not establish that the scale is correct.

Windows, railings and other thin features become smaller as the building is reduced. Identify the essential ones and discuss whether they can be made at the chosen size. Some elements may be represented more simply if that still serves the model’s purpose. The Prusa modeling guide describes general considerations for geometry and small features.

Explain with the files if the roof needs to lift off or the model contains several buildings. Give the quantity of each separate component and show its position in an overall image. Agree any division of a large model and its joining method in advance so the visible result is understood. Specify the base, printed elements, assembly and additional materials separately within the proposed order.

DECORDS 3D uses FDM printing in the available PLA, PETG, ASA and TPU materials, selected for the task. For an architectural presentation, discuss color, visible faces and the expected surface texture beforehand. Tell the workshop if the model will be painted or combined with other materials. Any such finishing and its availability need separate confirmation so the scope of the order remains clear.

An STL or OBJ can receive an initial estimate for a printed component in the DECORDS 3D calculator. It uses the outer bounding box, material, size tier and number of copies. For a composition with several elements, show the full contents and request agreement of the complete job. Model creation or adaptation, delivery and additional operations are separate from the basic printing estimate.

Give the presentation date and handover location with the first inquiry. The usual production estimate is 2 to 5 days after approval of the model and payment. Add modeling, a test element, any assembly you will carry out and transport to the plan separately. Checking one important section before making the complete composition can help resolve visible detail and possible revisions early.

Check a prepared file in the calculator and send the model description through the project form. Include the overall view, physical dimensions and separate components so the assessment covers the composition you need. DECORDS 3D is at Madara 33/1, S1, Tallinn, and inquiries can be sent to 3dprint@decords.com. Once the printed elements are agreed, confirm price, timing and an available handover method.
